Katie and Gian’s Blue and Terracotta Wedding

The holidays may be upon us, but I’m still dreaming of late summer warm nights where it doesn’t get dark at 5:30PM. Anyone else? Let’s go back and visit a time when the nights started a little later. Katie and Gian’s blue and terracotta wedding in September was full of warmth and the evening glow of summer stayed well into the evening. It was such a magical day! The color palette was so dreamy, I had so much fun assiting them with some gorgeous day-of items. They also hired me as their live painter, which was so much fun. I love working out at the beautiful Caroline Grove!

Pulling It All Together

To kick off their celebration, we displayed a beautiful white washed wooden sign with colorful details. Even hidden inside was their “KG” monogram! This sign was a wonderful foundation for all that was to come throughout the evening. Before guests headed into the reception, they were also greeted by a custom seating chart with wallpaper installation. We lasercut the “find your seat” print and also added the “KG” once again in the bottom corner. Adding your monogram throughout your design keeps things cohesive and on brand!

Aside from the larger signs, there were some smaller but impactful custom signage. The table numbers, guestbook, and cookie table all were terracotta inspired. Paired with the gorgeous florals from Once Gathered, the space looked incredible. We brought in the white oak once again for the bar menu, with dusty blue script – next to the peace flowers it really aligned with their blue and terracotta wedding design. Additionally, at each place setting there were custom thermography menus with color coordinating placecards to indicate meal choices. This added such a touch of elegance to the reception tables!

On top of creating some beautiful day-of items, I was able to see this amazing blue and terracotta wedding in real life! I had the pleasure of doing a live painting for this wonderful couple during their first dance. I love all of the details I was able to capture – Katie and Gian were very pleased! What’s even more? They used the illustration on their thank you cards after the wedding, which is such a thoughtful idea!
