Being a North Carolina live wedding painter is such a treat as an artist. While I love to travel all over the country (and globe) for live wedding paintings, North Carolina is home to so many incredibly beautiful wedding venues. From the mountains to the sea, I’ve had the chance to paint so many scenic beautiful places and people. Today, I wanted to share a recap of some of my favorite live wedding paintings and NC venues!

Amelia Grove New Bern NC Live Wedding Painting
New Bern is a such a gorgeous historic coastal town full of charm. Amelia Grove captures that essence with its beautiful historic home and all the pretty spots to say “I Do”. This painting was set beneath the spanish moss by the pier!

While we’re on the topic of the sea, how about a Carolina Beach Live Wedding Painting. Tying the knot by the ocean and exchanging vows with the sea as your backdrop is such a beautiful moment to capture with watercolor.

I grew up in Wilmington NC so Wrightsville Manor will forever be a favorite for me to travel to and paint! The venue itself and it’s gardens are a beautiful backdrop and capturing this sunlit moment for a couple’s portrait was a treat.

The Merrimon-Wynne House is always a perennial favorite for Raleigh couples and one of my favorite places to paint. Whether it’s a first dance inside the Carriage House or a couples portrait on the porch, there are no bad choices here.
The Bradford New Hill NC
The Bradford in New Hill NC just outside of Raleigh, NC brings a touch of European elegance. The venue itself is a gorgeous location with plenty of elegant backdrops to choose from. I love a scene set in front of the buildings there, but the interior of the reception hall is a stunner too!
The Meadows at Firefly Farm Live Wedding Painting Raleigh NC
Painting at The Meadows in Raleigh NC is always a treat and has that quintessential pastoral, peaceful look plus a gorgeous Estate House by the oaks. Whether the meadows themselves are your backdrop or the house, you’re guaranteed a beautiful composition.
Carolina Inn Chapel Hill NC Live Wedding Painting
UNC graduates love the Carolina Inn – but who doesn’t? The ballrooms and the Inn itself make beautiful scenes to set your wedding day. Whether its a first kiss or a first dance, it creates a gorgeous Chapel Hill live wedding painting.
The Parlour at Manns Chapel Chapel Hill North Carolina
Nearby in Chapel Hill, you’ll find historic charm at The Parlour at Manns Chapel. The restored chapel is surrounded by stunning gardens and magical picturesque backgrounds everywhere you turn! This bride stunned in a pink Marchesa gown and it was an honor to capture this sweet moment inside the chapel with family and friends looking on.
The Sutherland, Wake Forest NC Live Wedding Painting
The walled gardens at The Sutherland is probably the most popular spot for a vow exchange and coincidentally, a Live Wedding Painting. The trees provide a beautiful backdrop for the vow exchange and bring a lot of height and depth to the painting as well.
The Oaks at Salem, Apex NC Live Wedding Painting
The Oaks at Salem is another favorite spot in central North Carolina and has plenty of beautiful places to capture a live wedding painting. The garden area by the lake is a beautiful spot with a grand entrance for the bride and groom and their wedding party.
Angus Barn Indian Live Wedding Painting
This duo of live paintings at The Angus Barn were a treat to complete for this Indian wedding ceremony celebration. We captured the traditional Indian attire in a twinkling light gazebo on the grounds of the Angus Barn and their wooded area. Next, I painted their traditional American attire with their two pups in daytime by the lake with the Angus Barn in the background!
High Grove Estate, Fuquay Varina NC
Highgrove Estate is a lovely traditional home set against a beautiful backdrop that can’t be missed. The pergola that overlooks the forest below looks beautiful dressed in florals and makes a stunning backdrop for a first kiss, don’t you think?
All Saints Chapel and Market Hall Downtown Raleigh NC
If you love Downtown Raleigh, you have to love All Saints Chapel and Market Hall. Either venue makes a beautiful backdrop for a first kiss or first dance. As a North Carolina live wedding painter, I feel like this is the quintessential “downtown Raleigh wedding venue” duo you can’t miss.
Carolina Grove, Hillsborough NC Live Wedding Painting
Just of Durham, you’ll find the secluded beauty of Carolina Grove in Hillsborough, NC. Carolina Grove live wedding paintings are always a treat. Whether they’re outside at the ceremony circle or inside as a first dance in the beautiful white barn, there are only beautiful backdrops to surround couples who say I Do here!
North Carolina Charlotte Live Wedding Paintings
First Presbyterian Church Charlotte and The Ruth, Charlotte NC
Moving east, I really enjoyed painting in Charlotte NC at First Presbyterian Church and painting throughout the reception at The Ruth. Charlotte is filled to the brim with beautiful venues and settings to choose from!
North Corner Haven, Lancaster SC
But nearby in Lancaster SC, North Corner Haven is a retreat from the hustle and bustle of Charlotte and this family farm and estate is such a magical spot to tie the knot. The golden light pouring through the windows in any of their different buildings make a beautiful backdrop for a first dance or saying “I Do”!
North Carolina Mountains Live Wedding Painting
And finally, as a North Carolina Live Wedding Artist, I’d be crazy not to share how much I love the blue ridge mountains and painting their beauty!
Overlook Barn, Banner Elk NC Live
While I haven’t had a chance to paint at The Biltmore itself, it’s on my bucket list as a painter! Nearby, I have painted at Overlook Barn in Banner Elk and loved the backdrop that surrounds couples as they say “I Do”. The barn inside is such a dream and the venue owners have included magical twinkling lights. The gorgeous lighting that brings such warmth to the venue. The golden hour evening sun warms the mountains and really makes a magical golden tone to each painting there!
Fussel Farms, Millers Creek NC
Down by Millers Creek outside of Boone, Fussel Farms is a picturesque escape in the valley surrounded by the rolling mountains. Though it was a rainy day when I was there, the beauty and vivid green landscape was such a treat. The atmosphere was really enhanced even by the cloudy skies.
The Old Edwards Inn and Spa, Highlands NC
Finally, I will always adore painting at The Old Edwards Inn and Spa. Their estate is full of stunning locations. I’ve painted inside the Orchard House live, but also have a painting of the Orchard House for use on the semi-custom collection invitation and stationery shop. The mountains and gardens, historic trees and scenery plus beautiful architecture make for magic at every turn.
