A SURPRISE WEDDING PAINTING
When the bride’s mother reached out to me to request a live wedding painting as a gift for her daughter, Carlin, I was thrilled to be part of the surprise! She then told me that the ceremony would take place in Duke Chapel – a gorgeous cathedral on Duke University’s campus. Getting to create a Duke Chapel Live Wedding Painting is truly a treat!
If you’ve never seen it before, think Hogwarts. Not even kidding – it’s such a fun and unique setting in the heart of North Carolina. It’s truly a fairytale dream come true!
A CHANGE OF PLANS
For Carlin and Nick’s big day, the plan was initially to have their ceremony inside of the chapel. However, as COVID-19 unfolded, their plans were threatened and a shift in locations was suggested. To make a long story short, we were unsure whether the wedding would be able to happen at Duke.Thankfully in the final hours leading up to the ceremony, the wedding party and their closest family received permission to gather inside. They decided to live-stream the ceremony to their guests back at Hope Valley Country Club, which was such a great solution!
…BUT STILL A PICTURE PERFECT DAY
The bride and groom were cool, calm and collected and took everything in stride. The ceremony was absolutely perfect! Carlin’s Uncle and Grandfather officiated and heartfelt vows were spoken to one another through sentimental tears.
