Venue Collection Spotlight: Kelsie and Taylor’s Wedding at Walnut Hill in Raleigh

Kelsie first reached out to talk about wedding invites, and we met over Zoom. She shared her vision for her day, her love story with her fiancé, Taylor, and all the details of their engagement. So, I wanted to weave their love story with their vision for their wedding celebration. It all came together so easily! She chose to customize the Floral Crest suite with their new married last initial centered inside. Additionally, Kelsie wanted plenty of dusty pink roses, lavender-hued florals, and of course, flowing greenery! I loved working with Kelsie and Taylor on their wedding stationery for their wedding at Walnut Hill in Raleigh.

Beautifully detailed wedding stationery

After sharing her wedding day inspiration and colors, I got to work right away on painting different flowers that would accent the designs. We walked through the wording process too. After initial designs and a few tweaks, the invitations perfectly set the tone for the day. But Kelsie felt like she wanted to add a little extra “wow!” to the suite. So, I used some of the florals from her designs and covered the envelopes. Then, we added a vellum wrap around the invite, wrapped it in twine, and hand stamped it with a beautiful dusty pink wax seal! Add that to an envelope liner highlighted with their crest and floral designs, and we had a beautiful invitation suite.

Thankfully, Kelsie didn’t want to stop there. Part of the beauty of working with a stationer is that we can take elements of your invitation design and repurpose them throughout your wedding day décor! Kelsie decided that a fabric seating chart was the way to go, so I helped her create a gorgeous one. In addition, we reused her floral crest to create a beautiful wedding program booklet. It was the perfect keepsake for her guests! Six pages were covered with gorgeous details, notes, program information, the wedding party, event timeline, and of course, the wedding hashtag.

Even more lovely, the couple had a long list of places across NC that held history and meaning for them. So, instead of table numbers, we had seventeen tables named by location with detailed stories on the back. Then, guests could learn about the couple by reading something fun.

Personalized bar details

One of my favorite details from Kelsie and Taylor’s day was their signature drink sign! For the sign, Kelsie let me put my creativity to work and come up with a fun illustration for their Moscow Mule drink. I had a fun backstory to inspire me. Kelsie and Taylor had renovated a camper into a gorgeous, temporary home while they built their dream home. They named it “Millie in the Pines,” which you can totally check out through their Instagram. So, I thought it would be super fun to do an illustration of Millie with a “Just Married” banner draped across the side along with a cute mule in a flower crown to “haul” the camper. Plus, we incorporated the wedding crest into their cocktail napkins for a fun touch by the bar.
